Vs & Ts from my morning's telephone call with Diane & David at DGM WorldCentral:
1. Plans for the January 1999 launch of the KC DVD "Live In Japan": where?There are several possibilities to be discussed at my meeting with DavidDelGrosso in Malibu tomorrow: Hitchcock Theatre, for journalists directlyrelated to the technology; downtown LA to address the presence of NAMMrelated press; or a presentation where the public are also invited, andwhere the signatures of the assembled Crims might be attached to choiceartefacts and sundry commodities.
2. Ian McDonald has telephoned to see if I can play on his album while in NYsoundscaping. Sadly, this won't be possible - I have luchtime and eveningperformances each day.
3. Bjork's keyboardist has contacted World Central. Bjork is planning torecord an album of covers and is considering "Mary" from the RF solo album"Exposure" (1979). Would I mind? No. Actually, I'd be honoured.
4. Releases of ProjeKct One's "Live At The Jazz Cafe" and ProjeKct Two's"Live Groove" are now re-scheduled for February.
David has re-mixed this. This leads us to discuss the nature of the threeProjeKcts to date: the character of each is determined by their drummers.
P1 conceptually belongs to England, to an approach to improv developed by(among others) Derek Bailey. (The SME was a favourite of mine at the time).Jamie Muir worked with Derek, and was also a member of the 1972 King Crimsonwith Bill Bruford. This approach to improv is English / European, and quitedistinct from the American approach to jazz improv, whether played overchanges or "free". P1 isn't conceptually jazz improv, European or American,or rock improv; but more recognisably (in conception) London c. 1973 to myears.
5. The Great Deceiver is to be re-released in January. We have so manystanding orders for this we are going ahead with a re-release, and notre-mixing, the four volumes. We will be altering the box packaging, andmaybe re-assembling some of the running orders to take advantage of improvedrunning times.
6. Lots of positive feedback from P4: Masa, Lisa Mattei, Richard Chadwickall contacted DGM.
7. Soundscapes Cds are to be re-released in DTS surround sound in February1999.
Currently, the anticipated market for DTS is in-car systems, with stereocontinuing for some time at home. For example, I anticipate listening tostereo in the bath for a long time to come. DGM is examining thepossibilities of packing both stereo & DTS formats in the same jewel box.this is primarily a question of cost and pricing.

The Other Woman in my life has also left me, and at the same place, as TheHorse Who Must Be Obeyed. I called Toyah at her parents' home to blow her agoodnight kiss before returning to Chez Sister via the Chelsea Bookshop onIrving. And I am 97% packed before editing the Diary for inclusion inCollectors' Club Release No.2 in accordance with instructions from Hugh TheFierce.
